The main uses of steel are:
1. Structural steel
Structural steel for construction and engineering, abbreviated as construction steel, is steel used to make metal structural components in buildings, Bridges, ships, boilers or other engineering projects.
2. Tool steel
It is generally used for manufacturing various tools, such as carbon tool steel, alloy tool steel, high-speed tool steel, etc.
3. Special steel
Steels with special properties, such as stainless acid-resistant steel, heat-resistant non-peeling steel, magnetic steel, etc.
4. Specialized steel
It refers to special-purpose steel in industrial sectors, such as steel for automobiles, agricultural machinery, aviation, and electrical engineering, etc.
Steel is an alloy composed of iron with C (carbon), Si (silicon), Mn (manganese), P (phosphorus), S (sulfur), and a small amount of other elements. Among them, except for Fe (iron), the content of C plays a major role in the mechanical properties of steel, so they are collectively referred to as iron-carbon alloys. It is the most important, primary and widely used metallic material in engineering technology.
